Headshot of Jordan Armstrong

I'm a Digital Product Owner and former software engineer, currently working at the intersection of product development, software engineering, architecture, and user experience. The part I'm actually good at is translating complicated technical problems into something understandable and actionable — for a team, a stakeholder, or just for myself when I'm the one trying to figure out how something works.

Outside of work, most of what I do starts with some version of "I wonder if I could build that?" That's led to a fairly wide spread of interests: software development and experimental applications, AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows, amateur radio and software-defined radio, electronics and embedded systems, 3D printing and mechanical fabrication, home networking and self-hosting, and flight simulation hardware, among other things.

What usually pulls me in isn't the finished object — it's the process of understanding an unfamiliar system, finding where it breaks down, designing around that, and coming out the other side having learned something. That's as true of a piece of software as it is of a telecom rectifier I've decided should become a bench power supply.

This site is where that shows up: a mix of software projects, homelab infrastructure, radio and electronics builds, and things I've made by hand, along with the occasional writeup of how I got there. You can see the full list on the projects page, or find out what I'm currently running on the uses page.
